I've been looking for the right way to give you your first real glance into Oblivion's Gate, and I'm glad to say that I've finally found it. In the beginning I thought of just writing you a summary, but after writing a couple I decided I didn't want to give you that much yet. After that I thought about sharing an excerpt. Uh-uh. Cover promo? Not yet. Sketches? No.
Then came the idea to use a word cloud. It was perfect. By putting together a smorgasbord of things that apply to the book, I could let you have fun imagining what might be coming without telling them exactly what to expect yet. Who knows? I thought. Maybe they'll go nuts in the comments asking questions, proposing ideas, pointing out words that catch their interest, or whatever.
With that idea in my head, I jumped onto Tagxedo.com and started playing around. In the end, I put together something that is simple yet incredibly perfect. It gives away everything I want you to know without giving away too much too soon.
And for all you people out there who immediately went "PINK! Oh no! It's a romance," don't worry, you're wrong. Oblivion's Gate is NOT a romance novel. No, no. Not at all. Oblivion's Gate a mesh of Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Mystery. The pinkish coloration has nothing to do with the book. I chose it simply to help you discern the shape, which will be important, and to make the words easier to read on a black screen.
I hope you have fun putting the pieces together. This new series is going to be quite fun for me, and I hope I can help you get as excited for it as I am.
Please comment below. I am anxious to hear your thoughts and questions about the upcoming book.
